Security

you are secure not because you have control or understanding. you are secure even though you are weak, imperfect, and shortsighted. you are secure for one reason and one reason alone: God exists and he is your Father. He will never leave your side. He will never fail to provide. He will make good on everything he has promised. and He has the power to do so. He is Lord.

I saw this quote on a another gal's blog and it really struck me. How often my security lies in my ability to understand what God is doing. It is easy for me to be joyful and confident when I have the illusion of control. And yet this is completely false security! My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus!! Oh how I want to dwell truly secure in my Savior. Not secure in my own illusion of having my life planned out. Or secure in how my day has gone. Or secure because life seems to make sense. For these circumstances change as quickly as the waves of the sea. But through it all, my Savior remains unchanging - my security, my joy, my hope, my all!
