Raise no questions; Expect great mercies!
"It is our Father's business to mark the future. Our eyes are dim. We cannot see tomorrow. But our Father knows all about tomorrow, and He will be ready for whatever happens. Therefore I will wait on Him. I raise no questions. I expect great mercies. " - Spurgeon
Today I became an official "member" of Covenant Life Church. It was a joyful time of celebration at church this morning. However, I found myself feeling a bit dazed. How did I get here? You see, it has not quite been a year since I left San Diego headed for North Carolina. And now here I am in Maryland, joining CLC and serving at SGM!
So after church, I headed to my favorite spot at this beautiful park close by (Black Hills) and spent time with the Lord, reviewing journal entries from the past year, and really just reflecting on the way the Lord has led me this past year. I was so encouraged as I saw His faithfulness again and again and again...Even in the minutest little details. Through the countless changes that this past year in particular has held, I see a deepened faith in my Savior. A fresh trust in His dealings with me. A loosened grasp on the things of this earth that I hold dear. A willingness to pick up and go where He calls. This is a work of grace!! I am so grateful to the Lord for the many things He has done in my heart in this past year. In unchartered waters of both abundant blessing and difficult trial, I have found my Savior more than faithful.
So, I embark on this new season with gratitude - for how God has brought me here and for how He will continue to lead in the coming days. I want to be ready to do His bidding - whatever that may be!
"Your glorious cause O God, engages our hearts. May Jesus Christ be known wherever we are. We ask not for ourselves but for your renown. your cross has saved us, so we pray Your kingdom come." ("Your Kingdom Come" lyrics; SGM)
As the future unfolds one day at a time, I "raise no questions, but I expect great mercies!"
