Trust in the Lord

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not to your own understanding . . . " Psalms 3:5
Josh Harris preached an outstanding sermon on Sunday about trusting in the Lord. He used the analogy of how we implicitly trust that those we love will do us good. If you see a good friend of yours up to something, you immediately think it is for your good. However, we are suspicious of the activity of those we don't trust. (What are they doing? I bet they're up to no good again, etc...). This analogy really affected me as I realized that I don't trust the Lord to the degree that I desire to! I want to trust Him implicitly, with ALL of my heart! To not question what He's up to when I don't understand, to not imagine all sorts of impending disasters, but rather to trust Him fully. To not only trust that He is sovereign, but also that He is good. Oh for a deeper trust in my Savior. That is my prayer.

Oh, wow! That is an awesome message of truth! A friend of mine was talking to me & I wasn't following her train of thought at first, but still felt so much peace, because I knew everything she was saying and doing was motivated by love for me. I want to feel that way about the Lord, too!
Thank you for sharing what you're learning. I appreciate the spiritual challenge and refreshment you bring to my life. Although, I'm sure anyone who's met you would heartily agree with that!
