Snowed In: Part 1

Once upon a time in a land called the northeast, Vanessa and her son Josiah decided to come visit Melissa for a fun-filled five days! Or so we thought . . . No sooner had the plane landed in Baltimore on Wednesday evening, did we begin to hear rumors of impending historic snowfall. So our jam-packed sightseeing agenda had to be quickly altered in order to get to Virginia before the snow began. You see, given the choice, we'd much prefer being snowed in a large 4 bedroom country estate (Melissa's parents home) as opposed to a cozy little basement apartment. So in a flurry, we gathered all our belongings, a pack and play, stroller, and even a Wii that someone loaned us. We were ready!! (although we could hardly see out the back window of the SUV).

Skipping ahead, Saturday found us enjoying the Goins' B&B! We had afternoon tea every day, watched many movies, learned how to make jewelry, and were spoiled with wonderful food thanks to Patti (Melissa's mom). Peeking out the windows, the world was covered with a soft blanket of snow. From peaceful to perilous, the blizzard of 2010 (as the weather channel so aptly called it) was in full force. From our comfortably heated abode, we felt safe watching the blizzard from afar. But that quickly changed as we suddenly lost power. No heat, no water, no stew (that was in the crockpot), no coffee, no happy. It grew dark and frigid. The snow made the roads impassible. We were trapped . . .

That's terrible to leave me and I'm sure many others hanging! You must finish the end of the story, or maybe it's not over yet since your expecting more snow this weekend? Love and prayers of warmth are going out to you my friend!

Love the new look!
