Life
Well, I haven't updated much on here lately regarding what I've been up to! I always get encouraged with specific quotes, what God has been teaching me, etc...that I can go months on end without writing an actual real "update" on my life! Although, for the friends that read this, most of you probably know these things anyway, so maybe it's okay that my blog doesn't have many life updates.
It has been a full season, but a rich one! I was blessed to spend Easter with my parents and grandparents in Fredericksburg. We had a wonderful time together and enjoyed celebrating my mom's birthday as well as Easter. I really do treasure these times together! Since Easter, it's been a whirlwind of sorts over here. But a good whirlwind! :) Work is going well. The Pastors College is busily working on finalizing applications for the class of 2011. Additionally, we are in the throws of planning graduation for the class of 2010 and helping them finish out their academic year successfully. So things are certainly not dull! But that's how I like them. I'd much prefer to be spending my days in active service...than sitting around bored. And things are far from boring! :) Spring is officially here in Gaithersburg. The flowers are blooming and the world just looks alive! However, that also means allergies are in full bloom. Grateful that I don't seem to really struggle with allergies. But it really is beautiful here here right now just the same. We had a season of "April showers" but the last few days have been sunny and beautiful. April 17th, my dear care group leaders got married. It was a wonderful celebration! I had the joy of helping with worship in their ceremony as well as singing some old jazz standards at their reception. It was such a joy celebrating with them. They have waited for a number of years to get married, in order to wait on their parents' blessing, etc. So needless to say, it was a joyful, long-awaited day! For more current news, this weekend Covenant Life is hosting a women's conference. Elyse Fitzpatrick is coming to speak (we both attended Grace Church in San Diego for many years). I look forward to seeing her, learning from her, as well as enjoying this time with so many ladies. A number of churches in the area will be participating, and we are expecting about 2000 there. Our choir is helping to lead worship as well. I'm excited!
Well, that's a bit of a snapshot of life. There is certainly much more going on, but I just thought I'd mention a few updates. I really do thank the Lord for His kindness towards me! I keep thinking of the lyrics to the song Jesus Thank You - "pouring out the riches of your glorious grace, your mercy and your kindness know no end." It's true! He just keeps pouring out grace and more grace and more grace . . . !!
