My Passionate Preoccupation
“Let the cross always be the treasure of my heart, my highest and best thought…and my passionate preoccupation.” (CJ Mahaney, "Living the Cross Centered Life.")
The Lord really convicted me this morning regarding where the preoccupation of my life lies. Am I dwelling on my Savior and what He has done for me? Is this where my mind goes in the still moments? Or am I caught up instead with life's daily demands and my to-do list? Or maybe thoughts regarding the future, worries, concerns, questions, etc...Am I most preoccupied with Christ or with myself?
O Lord, would you help me to be preoccupied with you! I want to be so aware of your grace in my life, eyes wide-open to your bountiful provision, my heart truly captured by who you are and what you have done for me on Calvary. There is only one thing that is to have first importance in my life - my Savior!
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” I Cor. 15:3-4
