Crying out all the more
How kind of the Lord to illuminate particular passages in the Bible...ones we've read again and again. And yet, He often opens my eyes to see new truths in familiar passages. This morning I was struck by the passage in Matthew 20 of the blind man who is crying out on the side of the road, begging for mercy (Matthew 20:29-34). He was desperately aware of his need. And even as the crowd tried to silence him, there was no fear of man, apathy or even wavering in his fervor. He cried out all the more for mercy!
And Jesus, moved by pity, healed him. Thinking of my own life, I will often pray for something but rarely am I desperate for mercy! And then even if I am, I often grow weary of asking. But in reading this account, I was encouraged to cry out boldly! Confident in my Father's goodness, love and care, I am to cry out all the more, knowing He sees and will answer!
