He holds me fast
There are times when I am learning so much and I am so full that I must write as a way of expressing, articulating and applying. It's as if the act of taking pen to paper (or fingers to keys) magically brings clarity. Or at least forces me to give thought to the rumblings in my head and heart. Well this blog post today is certainly not a novel one. I'm not expressing a unique insight or detailing an amazing experience or epiphany. Well maybe I am actually.
As the year charges to a thundering finish, I find myself very reflective. Thinking of all the joys and sorrows that have made 2014 a rich one. I have laughed and cried. I have been often fearful and doubting. And yet my faith has been perfected through trial. The hard places have driven me to my Savior. I'm slowly learning to treasure Him more. Oh He has held me fast! That is the most amazing thing I could ever write about. My Savior's love is firm. He loves me so. He holds me fast.
When the tempter would prevail,
He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold
Through life’s fearful path;
For my love is often cold;
He must hold me fast.
