Not in vain

There is joy knowing that in all the hard seasons, trials we walk through, and deep work God does in our soul - all of it is not lost to Him. He is working!! As Horatius Bonar says in his poem How we Learn, "Truth springs like harvest, from the well plowed field, and the soul feels it has not wept in vain."

Not wept in vain. Wow. How thankful I am that we have a Savior committed to our good. Goodness and mercy follow us ALL the days of our life. Not because of anything in us - we have nothing good to offer! Our best works are shot through with sin. But all because of His great grace. What a Savior!! He delights to do us good!
