All endurance with joy

This has been quite the 5 months since I've last written. Full of labor, joys, hardships, fun outings, lots of celebrations, cheering on friends as they complete final school projects, fun memories, I could go on. It has been a particularly sweet last few months.

And yet hard too. There are family burdens, friends I'm carrying, and my hands are also full as I get ready for PC graduation. Beyond full. And yet the verse I keep coming back to again and again is in Colossians. I want to finish this school year well. I want to be faithful. I want to be joyful. I want to honor God. In all of the things the Lord has placed before me - the deeply hard and painful, the joyful, the exciting, the dull...whatever He has called me to, I want to please Him. I want to endure but also with joy! Because of what Christ has done for us on the cross, we CAN labor joyfully and honor Him, because of His glorious might at work in us.

So wherever you find yourself today, let's not just grin and bear it. Let's endure with joy. With patience and joy. All for Him who has saved us.

"...so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Col 1:10-13
