We simply don’t know...

I like to know things. What is the name of that actor? If, I don't immediately know, I'm on Google within seconds. What is the weather today? How do I solve that coding problem? Why is my plant dying? You name it, and I'm on the hunt for the answer. No surprise to those that know me well. :) This morning's sermon on Genesis 23 and the death of Sarah appropriately reminded me again that in much of life, we simply don't know what God is doing. When we're in the middle of hard things, we just don't know. Not really. Family dying. Dear friends moving. Cash disappearing. Coranavirus spreading. Life can just be tough. And the "why" questions just keep coming. Psalm 77 says "Your way was through the sea, your path through the great waters; yet your footprints were unseen." He promises to lead us and provide for us and sustain us, but He doesn't promise answers. Take comfort, my friends. There is much we don't know, and the list grows daily. But there is a lot we do know. He is faithful. His ways are inscrutable. He loves us. He gave us Jesus. Let's trust our God with our whole hearts!
